Fethiye Turkey holiday

Fethiye Turkey Hotels
Fethiye is from the ancient Telmessos, it remains virtually nothing. Fethiye is now a seaside resort off the beaten track, nestled at the bottom of a beautiful bay dotted with islands. At the foot of the cliff there are still some tombs lyciens, particularly the tomb of Amyntas. A museum collects items found in Lycia, including the famous stele trilingual Letoon where texts are written in lycien religious character, Greek and Aramaic. In the center of this small city that lends itself to leisurely walks with just enough shops and restaurants, you will discover some old Turkish houses with typical architecture, including the establishment of baths

A guide to the popular resort of Hisaronu, just outside Fethiye:

Hisaronu sits in a fabulous location surrounded by the stunning pine-clad Babadag mountain. Days are easily spent lazing on the beach or by the pool of the many apartments and hotels. Nights are for venturing out to one of the many restaurants or lively bars. Located just above the world famous beach of Olu Deniz, Hisaronu has developed into a lively resort due to limited room for expansion in Olu Deniz itself.
The bustling streets lined with traditional Turkish houses with forests in the distance, give Hisaronu a real rural yet thriving feel. The locals are extremely friendly and welcoming to the tourists, and as such there are plenty of places to eat and drink. Quiet and relaxing by day, the resort transforms into a lively hub of entertainment by night. The bars and discos offer those with energy to burn the perfect opportunity to have some fun, while those preferring to relax can head to one of the many first-rate restaurants. The resort doesn’t have inflated prices, so it is entirely possible to have a cheap holiday in Hisaronu. The resort has many British visitors during high season, whilst maintaining its Turkish feel. Bordering Hisaronu is also the quieter resort of Ovacik which is still within walking distance. Ovacik also has a water park, which is a great day out.
Although the resort is located slightly inland, the idyllic beach of Olu Deniz is just a few minutes away.
Olu Deniz beach is the most photographed in Turkey. Every holiday brochure featuring Turkey has this a picture of this world famous beach. Known as the Blue Lagoon, its beauty is well worth the short journey, hopping on one of the frequent and cheap dolmus (local minibus) to take you there.
